  • The most popular one (90% of the sales) is the TCS 3.5 PRO that has 8 Input/outputs, analog input, temperature input and a powerful battery backup, including on board charger, that will warn you in case of power failure.
  • The TCS 3.5 Basic can also be good if you don't need temperature input and analog input and battery backup management and you don't care of keeping some data in memory.
  • If you need DTMF and a voice guided menu (for very special applications), you should consider the TCS 3.5 PRO VOICE
  • If you need to control the temperature of a place in a sophisticated way, with different temperatures at different days and time of the day you should consider the TCS 3.5 CT

    Here are the available versions for the TCS 3.5 electronic board, together with the options that are available on each version.

  • TCS 3.5 BASIC: This is the entry level board. It has the following basic features:
  • 8 inputs (active LOW, active High, Counters) and 8 Outputs (one with a 48VAC 1A relay)
  • Gate function: it clicks the relay upon reception of a voice call from a phone in the white list. Ideal to open electric gates free of charge. A log of the numbers ( up to 200) which opened the gate is stored on the board (but is not maintained in case of power failure, as happens in the TCs 3.5 PRO and TCS-BOX) and is downloaded to a PC with TCS-COMMANDER software (supplied with the board) when connected to it.
  • Modem sharing function: GSM modem can be switched to the PC RS232 port to be used directly by other equipment
  • SMS gateway function: It may be used to send and receive SMS with a PC by means of our TCS-Commander free of charge software that allows easier programming and use of the board when connected to a PC.

    • The main limitation of the TCS BASIC is the absence of a battery backup system. This means that it will not send an alarm in case of power failure and will not keep the numbers of who used the gate opening function.
    If you need these features, you should look at the TCS PRO.
  • TCS 3.5 PRO: This is the favourite product. It has the same characteristics of the TCS-BASIC plus the following:
  • Battery Management: necessary to allow TCS 3.5 to be operated also when there is no main power supply. It includes a on board 12V Lead Battery charger that works with any input voltage above 15 V, like a Solar panel or any other source. A powerful logic control allows measuring of battery voltage via SMS and automatic shutdown at 10.5 V to prevent deep battery discharge, with warning messages to all phones in the alarm telephone book. The TCS Battery management is a smart TCS UPS on board. Battery not included (it may come with TCS-BOX). Due to charge current, we recommend a 1.2A to 7A lead battery.
  • Temperature management: Allows TCS 3.5 to measure external temperature through a probe (that we supply separately). Temperature range is -25 to +100 degrees celsius. It is possible to set a low temperature alarm and a high temperature alarm. Passage through these thresholds will trigger alarm SMSs.
  • Analog Input: Allows measurement of an analog value applied to a specific input. Standard input type is 4-20 ma, that is a very common industry standard. It is possible to transform it into a 1-5 Volt voltage input simply removing a resistor. Values are expressed in percentage of maximum. There are 2 lower and 2 upper alarm thresholds to allow for pre-alarms and final alarms to be sent. Please check the analog input page for more details.

  • TCS 3.5 PRO VOICE:It has the same characteristics of the TCS-PRO plus DTMF and IVR MENU:
  • DTMF recognition: allows control of most TCS functions with touch tones. This is convenient to control the TCS units even from ordinary land lines phones or phone booths anywhere in the world (they must be Tone phones, as it happens in most countries nowadays). Another interesting application is to use a DTMF password (a 6 digit number that is input on any phone keyboard) to access some voice functions, like opening the gate (clicking output 8 for half second).   • IVR MENU: IVR means Interactive Voice Responder and becomes powerful coupled with the DTMF function. If you call the voice number of the TCS you will listen to a voice that will tell you what to do to read and set various TCS parameters. Click this link for an example of the TCS IVR that is supplied with the TCS PRO VOICE version. It is possible to modify or translate this menu, for a price or even for free, depending on type of modification required (if we evaluate to put it as a standard) and quantity involved.
  • If you want to try a working IVR demo, please call +39-348-2572024, a TCS board in our office will answer you and you will be able to test it. Follow these instructions:
    When you call +39-348-2572024 you will hear 3 tones that will prompt you to insert your password, that, for this board, has been programmed to 123456.
    After the 3 tones type 123456 on your phone, the voice reading the menu will start soon after.
    If you made a mistake digiting the password you are allowed to try 3 times (wait again for the tones).

  • TCS 3.5 CT (Chrono Thermostat)
    This is a special TCS device developed to control remotely the temperature of a house, with an accuracy of 0,2 degrees, with a programmable schedule day by day. The normal TCS 3.5 PRO software has a temperature input that will send an alarm in case of low or high temperature. The TCS 3.5 CT will also control the temperature, by means of a special software that is called CT Temperature Management. In details:
    CT Temperature management allows TCS 3.5 to measure temperature through a probe (that we supply separately) and act on output 8 or 7 (you can program it) to activate or deactivate the heating/cooling system so to keep the temperature required.
    Temperature range is 5 to 30 degrees celsius, with 0,2 degrees division. It is possible to set a low temperature alarm and a high temperature alarm. Passage through these thresholds will trigger alarm SMSs. The powerful CT (Chrono Thermostat) function allows setting of daily set points at certain hours with different temperatures, for every week day. I.E. you can set 20 degrees on monday at 8:00 and then set 15 degrees at 22:00. Again you may set 21 degrees on tuesday at 8:00 and then set 16 degrees at 22:00 etc.
    You can choose a temperature hysteresis or a time hysteresis and you may set Winter/Summer logic.
    This is quite a powerful temperature control software not only for residential use but for professional use only.
    If your company sells heating on a calories basis, this solution can help you a lot, avoiding energy waste and useless trips to a location.
    Please consider buying this device ONLY if you need the above functions, otherwise the best solution can be either the TCS 3.5 BASIC or the TCS 3.5 PRO.
