Lilienfeld Autonomous weather station

The Paraclub Traisental has recently installed what perhaps is the most sophisticated weather station ever installed by a club of Paragliders. It uses the Sonic anemometer Wind Observer made by Gill. All the electronics has been supplied by DPS-Promatic that has made a special version of its standard TCS weather station. The unit has been installed on the top of a telecom tower. Optical fibers have been used for data transmission from sensor to TCS electronics. It was a pleasure working with Franz, we are glad to have contributed to this great achievement.

GSM wireless meteo station

It was certainly not easy going climbing the tower to install the Wind Observer!
All the autonomous weather station electronics supplied by DPS-Promatic was installed at the bottom of the tower.
Below is an example of the message that can be heard when calling the GSM number corresponding to the meteo station.
