TCS-AWS help on line

Weather data can be obtained on any TCS-AWS station in 2 ways: placing a voice call or by SMS.

Weather data by voice call Place a call to the voice number of your station and you will listen to the voice reading real time values. Sampling interval can be changed from 2 minutes to 60 minutes using the #LGV command.
Important voice calls are subject to the setup you have entered under command #ACM. If you have bought the DTMF option, you can enable a touch tone password that people have to input on their phone to be able to listen to weather data.
Alternatively you can choose to enable a White List of people to whom the station will answer (won't answer to others).
Useful It is possible to record a 8 seconds message before actual weather data are read out. this is a good promotional feature.

Weather data by SMS Send an SMS with the command #PWD123456#GTM (where 123456 is the password that you can change as you like) and in a few second you will receive an SMS with weather data, that will include all data relevant to your station.
As an example, the following is the SMS that is sent by the TCS-AWS with temperature, humidity, wind and rain sensors:

LAST 10 min
WIND:N (30) SD:1
TEMP:25 (Today:20/30)
DP:19.2 RH:58%
RAIN: 1.2 (24h 2.0 mm)
POW:B (12.5V)
IC=3
TCS-AWS-IT-0152

Notes and explanations:
  • 1- 10 minutes is the data averaging and sampling interval and can be changed from 2 o 60 minutes
  • 2- Direction is given in N,NE,E,SE,S,SW,W plus degrees with 5 degree aproximation
  • 3- SD= 1 is the standard deviation of the direction. The lower the number, the stabler the wind direction
  • 4- Temp:25 is the one measured during the last sampling period (10 here). 20 and 30 are daily minimum and maximum
  • 5- DP is Dew Point
  • 6- RH is relative humidity
  • 7- Rain is in steps of 0,2 mm
  • 8- Power is the battery voltage. B means running on batery. E means running on external power
  • 9- IC is incoming call, that is the number of calls that have been placed to the station.
  • 10- TCS-AWS-IT is the name of the station, and 0152 is the serial counter of the SMS that the station has sent. Both can be changed with the command #MHD.
